Artist Statement
As with any artist, my time spent creating art jewelry is an enjoyable process. My taste and style continues to change, thus introducing me and my customers to my next collection. This gallery of jewelry focuses on the creative, colorful and contemporary style I have grown to love. I know I have accomplished my mission when a piece of my jewelry starts a conversation!
Artist Biography
Katherine Swift grew up on a dairy farm in Loudoun County, Virginia close to Washington, D.C. She was always fascinated with many aspects of fine art, but chose to follow another career path in college. It was a chance meeting of another artist in 2001 that renewed Katherine’s interest in pursuing an art career. She took a beginning level metalsmithing class and immediately found the way to express her vision and creativity. Since then, she has studied at the University of Florida, William Holland School of Lapidary Art, and the Penland School of Craft to hone her skills. In 2002, she applied to an art show and has never looked back. Today Katherine participates in several art shows a year along with selling her work in several galleries and boutiques. She also designs and maintains her own website showcasing her pieces at www.kmsdesignsonline.com
